Step Forward North Central
Step Forward North Central is a CalWORKs Behavioral Health Center that provides outpatient behavioral health services to participants in the CalWORKs Welfare-to-Work program. The program helps remove behavioral health barriers to employment to help individuals and families gain self-sufficiency as they transition from the welfare system to gainful employment.
Services include behavioral health and psychiatric evaluations, medication management, group, individual and family counseling, case management, care coordination and crisis intervention. There is a strong emphasis on educational and employment services and preparation. The programs are funded by the County of San Diego, HHSA, Behavioral Health Services.
Step Forward North Central is located in Kearny Mesa and serves CalWORKs participants in the North Central region of San Diego County.
Eligibility Criteria
CalWORKs Welfare-to-Work participants who are experiencing behavioral health difficulties impacting their ability to obtain employment.
How to Refer
Referrals are made directly from the participants’ designated Welfare-to-Work Case Manager.
Participants may meet with their Welfare-to-Work Case Manager to add our services to their Welfare-to-Work Plan.
